No, we didn't hack the .XYZ database and change the prices :) It's still only $4 for a .XYZ, but this month, the folks over at .XYZ have upped the ante in a way we can really get behind. For all of November, they're contributing $0.50 to the Electronic Frontier Foundation for every new .XYZ domain you register.

Furthermore, as you probably already know, the EFF is one of our favorite supported pojects, so Gandi is pleased to match this donation! That means a full $1 of your puchase will go to the EFF so they can continue to be an awesome defender of your digital rights.

Best of all, we are keeping the price at a ridiculously low $4/€3 per domain (excluding taxes, if applicable), just like we did in October!

If you have a favorite project you think we should support in December, we want to hear from you! Let us know on Twitter, Facebook or Google+.

Five more new gTLDs, brought to you by the UnitedTLD registry, are entering the Sunrise phase.

.dentist and .rehab will be in Sunrise until December 13. The Landrush phase will begin December 21 at 9am PDT (16:00 UTC) and end on December 24 at 9am PDT.

.degree and .gives will enter Sunrise on November 4. The Landrush phase will last from January 11 to January 14, 2014, when GoLive begins.

Lastly, .forsale enters Sunrise on November 11, where it will remain until January 10, 2015. Its Landrush will begin on January 18, 2015 and will last until GoLive begins, on January 21, 2015.

Did you catch all that? Good. Here's the price list, including the corresponding Sunrise, Landrush and Golive prices of a one-year registration, all at A rates:

Note that .dentist is reserved to, you guessed it, dentists. You won't have to provide proof upon registration, but the registry reserves the right to request documentation at any time and suspend the domain if it's not provided.

As you may know, SWITCH, the Registry in charge of the .CH TLD, is ending its activities as a registrar at the end of the first 2015 trimester.

All holders of a .CH domain name will need to have chosen a new registrar by then.

Whether you're already a Gandi customer or just checking out your options, we've prepared an offer we hope you'll find appealing:

For those who have already chosen Gandi, we're lowering our prices! Renewals have dropped from $23.00 to $16.64. New registrations now cost $13.00 (previously $18.00) and transfers are free of charge. (Note that transfers do not alter the expiration date nor the DNS of the domain.)

To sweeten the deal even more, we're offering a promo code for 30% off your first renewal for all .CH domains transferred to Gandi before the end of the year, whether you're coming from SWITCH or another registrar. The promo code will appear in your account within 7 days of the transfer and will allow you to renew your domain for $11.64 instead of $16.64 until January 2015.

Still not sure we're the registrar for you? Check out all the features that come free with each domain at Gandi!

Ready to make the switch? Transferring your .CH to Gandi is simple and fast.

First, you just need to get your domain's transfer authorization code.

Once you've done that, you just need to enter the list of domains in the domain transfer form and follow the steps!

Starting today, you can register a .cat for two years for the price of a one-year registration, which at A rates will cost you $13.00.

The promo is valid until the end of 2014.

Note: anyone can register a .CAT, but you must publish a website in the Catalan language within 6 months of registering the domain name. For more info, see the .cat info page.

The west coast always comes first, which is why Los Angeles has had .la for a very long time. But now the East Coast is catching up, with .nyc!

There are, of course, a few obvious businesses that should definitely focus on getting a .nyc. Bagel makers, pizza joints, and the odd deli now have a unique opportunity to remind everybody who has the best stuff in the Big Apple.

.NYC is reserved to individuals, organizations and businesses having an address in one of the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island), and it's entering GoLive today, Wednesday 8 October, 2014.

.nyc will cost $38.34 for a one-year registration at A rates.

At the moment, .XYZ leads the pack of the new gTLDs, with over 500,000 sold since release.

That's why we can offer it at $4.00 instead of $13.63 (at A rates) all October long. All .XYZ regular domain creations for a year at all rate levels are this price. See the .XYZ TLD info page for details.

Promotion valid through October 31st, 2014!

Note: This promotion is now over, but check back soon for more info!
