In the case of a Gandi Pro Certificate, the financial warantees and mechanisms are described in the document, accessible here

<--> In the case of a Gandi Business SSL, validated by the company Comodo, you must fax them the following 4 documents to +1-(866)-463-2379:

a proof of residence (same name / address as appears in the whois) that has been issued withing the past 3 months,
a photocopy of your legal photo ID or valid passport,
a duly-completed certificate creation request,
as well as the 'Certificate Subscriber Agreement.
