Go to the new Gandi

We're never excited to bring you this kind of news, but in this case the change is so significant that we feel a special sense of urgency to get you this information as soon as possible.

Beginning August 21, 2017 at midnight UTC (keep in mind: that's 5:00 PM PDT on August 20), prices on sixteen TLDs managed by Uniregistry will be increasing, in some cases by very significant amounts.

We do not have the final pricing yet but we do know the rough percentage increases on each TLD:

These increase will apply to all operations on these domains, so if you've always wanted one of these domains, now is the time to get it. If you have one already and it's not renewed up to the maximum registration period (10 years on all of these), now is the time to top it off. And if you have your domain registered elsewhere and want to consolidate your portfolio at Gandi, now's the time to transfer it. As you can see from the list above, the savings could be significant.

It's always with great remorse that we make this type of announcement but effective 23 January 2017, in order to comply with our contractual obligations, we have increased registration and renewal prices on 76 TLDs, on all price grids.

The reason for the price increase largely has to do with the fact that we pay most new gTLDs in US Dollars and exchange rates have recently fluctuated such that we were compelled to increase rates on affected TLDs.

Generally, we don't adjust our prices based on minor exchange rate fluctuations, however the variations this time were too significant to be able to avoid adjusting our rates. So it's out of necessity that we are notifying you of the following new rates on the following TLDs:

Taxes are not included in the above prices, which unless otherwise indicated, apply both to renewals and creations.

Besides the TLDs listed above, the following TLDs are also impacted, though only in grids B through E:

.asia, .org, .ag, .tv, .tel, .ws, .mobi:

  • Grids B and C: +10% on transfers only
  • Grids D and E: +10% on all operations

One last TLD, .biz, is also impacted but only on Grid E. The prices for all operations have been increased by 10%.

This summer is all about you, Gandians: with .photo and .sexy on sale for 50% off it's time to get those domain names to celebrate your photogenic and sexy selves. Normally a .photo (which can be used for more than just selfies, by the way), is $32.49 for a one-year registration at A rates but this summer you can get one for just $16.25.

And .sexy, which normally runs $21.70 for a one-year registration at A rates is available for the sexy price of $10.85. The summer fun starts today, June 15 until September 15.

The new top-level domains .sexy and .tattoo are now available. Can you imagine your .sexy email? What about that new ink you just got? Show it off online with a .tattoo domain.

The sunrise phase is on now, and so only those with registered brands can get them right away. If you are a brand holder and want to get it registered, let us know here!

Following the sunrise, these extensions will be open to all on Feb 24th, 2014. Pricing for the golive phase of .sexy is $21.70/year, excluding VAT, if you are at A rates. See all the prices here.

You can pre-register them for go-live now:

The pace is accelerating for new generic top-level domain (gTLD) releases. In case you haven't heard, the Donuts registry is offering 7 new extensions for sunrise right now:

Another batch of 7 is queued up for December 10, at 8am Pacific time:

Add to this list the gTLDs .menu and شبكة (aka .shabaka, or "web" in Arabic), depending on whether we get the data we need from the registry in time.

December 11 is a good day for gTLDs too, with the Sunrise of .tattoo and .sexy. Should be interesting, but where is .nice?

We are working on getting .kiwi ready for  December 16, and will notify you here about others as the information becomes available. Stay tuned!
