The .BE registry has announced that its extension will accept accented characters starting on June 11th at 10:00 CET.

The table of accented characters (33) corresponds to all of the French, Dutch, German as well as Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish.

It has been a few weeks since we first started talking about a new way to bill for cloud computing services

Until the 4th of July 2013, one-year .CO domain creations are 50% off in all price rates or € excl. VAT for A rates.

Note that as of last month, the .CO extension is considered as a generic extension by google, just like .com and .net.  

Register a .CO:

From June 1st to July 1st 2013, .eu domain creations for 2 years will cost the same as a one-year creation, or €12 excl. VAT for 2 years.

As a reminder, .eu domains are available to residents of the European Union, as well as organizations registered within the EU.

Maintenance will be performled on Gandi's database from Monday night, June 3rd at 11:00 PM GMT to Tuesday morning, June 4th, at 2:00 AM GMT.

Our Gandi Cloud IaaS/VPS customers should note that thier accounts will soon be migrated to the new billing system. 

We are currently experiencing routing anomalies via our Paris transit providers.

Currently traffic from the internet to Gandi which uses our IP transit connections (as opposed to peering) is only visible via our connections in the US.  As a result, European customers accessing Gandi via our transit providers will be experiencing increased latency.

We are working with our transit providers to resolve the issue.

Note that paths following our peering connections are not impacted by this issue.

Following the 9th validation yesterday, ICANN has accepted 341 new extensions.

It is now certain that these extensions will be live before the end of 2013 and 2014.

As a reminder, if you want to participate in the SUNRISE period in order to protect your brand, you must first register it with the validation organization, TMCH, for which Gandi is accredited.
