How many shares do I need?

Here you will find examples of using our our servers, from 1 to 16 shares. This list is definitely not exhaustive, and you are totally free to do whatever you wish with your shares. We recommend that you only use as many shares as you need, and to add additional shares to reach the level of performance that you need.

1 share is equal to a server with 256 MB of RAM (+512 MB of swap), 8 GB of RAID60 disk space reserved for your data (the system is on another disk) and 5 Mbits of guaranteed bandwidth (up to 1.5 TB of transfer per month).

2 shares

2 shares is equal to a server with 1 or 2 processors with 512 MB of guaranteed memory (+512 MB of swap), 16 GB of RAID60 disk space and 10 Mbits of bandwidth

  • a multi service server (web, mail..)
  • a mail server for a small company
  • a shared storage server

4 shares

4 shares allows you to set up a server with 2 to 4 processors, with 1 GB of guaranteed RAM (+512 MB of SWAP), 32 GB of RAID60 and 20 Mbits of bandwidth.

  • a comfortable web server
  • a game server

16 shares

16 provides you with the possibility of having a server with 2 to 8 processors, 4 GB of RAM guaranteed (+512 MB of SWAP), an 125 GB RAID60 data disk, and 80 Mbits of dedicated bandwidth

  • a database server
  • a streaming video server
