Backup/SnapshotWhat's a snapshot?
A snapshot is a copy that is made of your system or data disk at a given time. It is made in real time, without your server needing to be stopped or rebooted. The main interest of this feature is of course to create backups of the status of a server at a key moment (new installation, configuration, etc) or even at a pre-scheduled time.
You have the possibility of activating snapshots on your instance. They are set to take a total of 3 images of your disk at three separate times:
- one image every day
- one image every week
- one image every month
To activate snapshots, you must subscribe to an additional 30% of disk space on top of the disk space that you are using for your main disk (3GB or €0.54 excl. VAT per month if your disk is 10GB for example).
The data of your snapshots will be available at any time from your instance.
You can also run Crontab scripts to dump and save your databases inside your Snapshots.
